Protests sweep across European capitals against Israeli aggression on Gaza

Brussels (Quds News Network) – As the relentless Israeli war on Gaza continues, protests denouncing the ongoing bloodshed and calling for an immediate ceasefire took place across several European capitals and cities.

Demonstrators demanded an end to the Israeli genocide that has claimed the lives of over 28,000 Palestinians, predominantly civilians.

Berlin, Germany

The German capital, Berlin, saw three protests, involving human rights associations and demonstrators from various cities. The protests concluded at the South African embassy, expressing gratitude for the country’s support for the Palestinian cause.

The primary demand was an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Additionally, protesters raised their voices against companies accused of collaborating with Israeli occupation forces.

Solidarity rallies for Palestine and Gaza were also held in the German cities of Saarbrucken and Freiburg.

Paris, France

In Paris, France, a massive demonstration commenced at Republic Square and moved towards Nation Square. Protesters focused on combating far-right extremism and fascism, condemning governmental alignment with the far-right in both the country and Israel.

The rally called for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, cessation of Palestinian casualties, lifting the Gaza blockade, and providing humanitarian aid.

United Kingdom

Reports indicate supporters of Palestine gathered in 34 cities across the UK, with over 40 protests displaying slogans such as “Stop the genocide” and “End the UK government’s complicity with Israeli crimes in Gaza.”

Demands included stopping arms exports to Israel and ending political and military support.

Utrecht, Netherlands

A similar protest occurred in Utrecht, Netherlands, expressing opposition to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza.

Other European cities

Thousands rallied in Vienna, Austria; Malmo, Sweden; and Odense, Denmark, as part of the European-wide protests condemning Israeli aggression.

Istanbul, Turkey

In Istanbul, Turkey, dozens of doctors and healthcare workers marched in solidarity with Gaza, protesting Israeli attacks. Banners were held, and slogans demanded urgent international intervention to stop the assaults, facilitate the return of Gaza residents to their homes, and end the blockade.

Ongoing aggression

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s war on Gaza has led to tens of thousands of civilian casualties, primarily children and women. Israel is now facing charges of genocide before the International Court of Justice, following a lawsuit filed by South Africa.
