The administration of MoMA responded to the occupation of the building by closing its doors, as demonstrators passionately denounced the Israeli aggression on Gaza. The protesters called for the immediate removal of board members affiliated with arms manufacturing companies that supply the Israeli occupation forces.
Simultaneously, hundreds gathered outside the Brooklyn Museum in New York, echoing calls for support for Palestinian rights and an end to the Israeli military aggression.
In a parallel development, more than 100 workers from the cultural sector, employed by institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Museum, and The Studio, released an open letter expressing their dissent.
The letter strongly criticized these cultural institutions for their perceived silence in the face of Israel’s ongoing war of genocide in Gaza.
