Prominent academic Abdul-Sattar Qassem dies from COVID-19

Occupied West Bank (QNN)- The prominent academic and professor Abdul-Sattar Qassem passed away today aged 72, after contracting the COVID-19 virus on January 17th.

Professor Qassem was born in Deir Ghosoun in Tulkarm in 1948. He is an author, academic, political analyst, and researcher. He has won Abdul Hamid Shuman’s prize in political science.

Qassim has studied political science at the American University of Cairo before having a Masters’s degrees in both political science and economy from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

He has been known for, his strict views against occupation and the PA’s corruption, which made him a target of the PA’s repression.

He is an author of 25 books, over 130 researches, and thousands of articles.
