Pro-Palestine activists call to free al-Kurds arrested by Israeli forces in Sheikh Jarrah

Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Pro-Palestine activists are calling to free the Palestinian activists Muna and Mohammed al-Kurd after being arrested by Israeli forces from their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Israeli occupation forces today arrested the siblings, Muna and Mohammed, from their home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood for being a voice and eye for what is happening in the neighbourhood.

Muna and Mohammed are the Palestinian activists behind the social media campaign, #SaveSheikhJarrah, which supports Palestinian families facing imminent Israeli threat of eviction in the neighborhood, including al-Kurd’s.

The siblings’s father, Nabil al-Kurd, told reporters that his 23-year-old daughter was arrested after the occupation forces raided their home in Sheikh Jarrah in a “provocative manner,” adding that the forces handed a notice ordering her twin brother Mohammed, who was not at home at the time of arrest, to turn himself in.

The siblings were documenting and recording the Israeli occupation forces violence in the neighborhood against the residents.

On Friday, the Red Crescent said 23 runners were injured when Israeli forces fired tear gas and stun grenades at a Marathon in solidarity with the Palestinian families facing forced expulsion in the neighborhood.

Hundreds of runners participated in the event on Friday which began in Sheikh Jarrah and ended 3.5km (2 miles) away in Silwan, as dozens of Palestinians living in the two neighbourhoods face the threat of losing their homes to Israeli settlers.

Mohammed was posting and documenting what the occupation forces did for the runners.
