Pro-Israel and Trump mega-donor Sheldon Adelson dies at 87
California (QNN)- Billionaire casino owner and pro-Trump and Israel mega-donor Sheldon Adelson died at age 87 on Monday night from complications related to treatment for non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, his company Las Vegas Sands announced Tuesday.
Sheldon G. Adelson, a billionaire casino tycoon and free-spending political donor who helped bankroll conservative candidates in the United States as well as Israeli politicians, and who pushed towards preventing the establishment of a Palestinian state, died Jan. 11 in Malibu, Calif. He was 87.
One of the world’s richest self-made men, he amassed an estimated fortune of $40 billion and used much of it to advance conservative causes and leaders, including a $25 million donation to help elect Donald Trump as president in 2016.
He was also a fierce supporter of the occupation stte who used his wealth to elevate the issue as a top cause for many GOP officials.
Adelson owned the Israeli daily hardcore newspaper Israel Hayom and weekly newspaper Makor Rishon. “I’m a one-issue person. That issue is Israel,” he said in 2017, per Pro Publica.
Adelson has been an utter victor on one front: over 20 years he has helped defeat the Oslo peace process.
In 2018, Trump awarded Miriam Adelson the President Medal of Freedom — the nation’s highest civilian honor — for her and her husband’s ‘philanthropy’.
Adelson’s top adviser said the billionaire was “110% behind the president [Donald Trump]” and that it would “become apparent shortly.”
The American billionaire has two pro-Israel agendas: One is defeating any prospect of a Palestinian state. The other is getting the U.S. to attack Iran. In October 2013, he urged Obama to nuke Iran.
