Prisoner Sami Abu Diyak dies due to medical negligence
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Palestinian cancer patient prisoner, Sami Abu Diyak, died on Tuesday due to the Israeli medical negligence policy.
The Committee of Prisoners and Former Prisoners announced that Abu Diyak (36 years old) has died following months of warnings that his health has been deteriorating and he could die any time due to the Israeli medical negligence and denial of medical treatment.
Abu Diyak was sentenced to three life sentences and 30 years in jail. He had cancer due to an Israeli deliberate medical error four years ago, when Israeli doctors removed parts of his intestines causing cancer in addition to kidney and lung failure.
Spokesperson for the committee, Amani Sarahneh, had previously stated that “his death could be announced any time due to his very serious condition”.
Only last Thursday, the Israeli authorities allowed Abu Diyak’s family to visit him. His mother and four siblings were able for the first time to spend 20 minutes with their unconscious son.
