Amman (QNN)- Thousands of people marched in Arab and Western cities on Friday to mark the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, waving Palestinian flags and demanding an end to Israel’s genocide and ethnic cleansing.
The demonstrations stretched across Europe, Australia, and the Middle East as protesters renewed calls for the Palestinian right of return and condemned ongoing displacement.
In Athens, demonstrators gathered outside the Israeli embassy in solidarity with Palestinians displaced from their homes and villages during the 1948 Nakba. Riot police deployed heavily around the embassy as protesters raised Palestinian flags and chanted against the Israeli genocide on Gaza.

In Helsinki, activists marched from Rautatientori Square under the slogan “March for Palestine… 78 Years Since the Nakba.” Organizers linked the historical displacement of Palestinians in 1948 to the ongoing destruction and forced displacement caused by the genocide in Gaza.
Several Dutch cities also held Nakba events and silent protests. In Amsterdam, activists organized a commemorative evening at the Dominicus Church, while silent demonstrations took place in Utrecht and Apeldoorn.
