Gaza: Father and Son Killed as Damaged Building Collapses in Gaza; Civil Defense Says Operations Halted Amid Israeli Blockade

Gaza (QNN)- A building that had been damaged during Israel’s two-year genocide collapsed on Monday in central Gaza, where displaced families had been sheltering, killing a father and his son. Meanwhile, the Civil Defense announced that it has halted operations due to severe shortages of equipment and materials amid an Israeli blockade.

The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza confirmed that a father and his eight-year-old son were killed after a five-story building collapsed this morning. Local sources said the building had been damaged during the Israeli assault in the Maghazi Camp.

Israel’s two-year genocidal war has destroyed more than 80 percent of the structures across the Gaza Strip, forcing hundreds of thousands of families to take refuge in flimsy tents or overcrowded makeshift shelters.

Across the enclave, survivors also seek shelter in severely damaged buildings.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 20 Palestinians, including babies, have died over the past weeks of severe cold and collapsed buildings.

Meanwhile, the rescue group announced that operations will be suspended due to shortages of equipment and fuel.

Despite the ceasefire which took effect on October 10, Israel continues to violate the agreement, killing hundreds of civilians and restricting the entry of aid, including tents, mobile homes and shelter materials.
