Gaza (QNN)- New footage has revealed details of how Palestinian doctor Marwan Al-Hams was abducted by Israeli forces in July during the genocide, after a French journalist lured him into an ambush by claiming to film a documentary about his medical work.
Who’s Marwan Al-Hams?
On July 21, 2025, an Israeli special forces unit abducted Dr. Marwan Al-Hams, the director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, during a deadly raid in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
That day, eyewitnesses said the forces opened fire on a group of civilians at a seaside café across from the Red Cross hospital. The assault killed two Palestinians and injured an ambulance driver. Al-Hams was also shot in the leg.
About 70 days later, on October 2, his nurse daughter, Tasnim, was also abducted in a similar manner to pressure him during interrogations, according to Israeli media reports.
“This reflects a troubling pattern of kidnappings and enforced disappearances carried out by Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians, including health workers, in the Gaza Strip,” Euro-Med Monitor said.
This week, after five months, the Israeli military finally admitted abducting Al-Hams, claiming he is a “Hamas operative” who helped identify Israeli soldier Hadar Goldin's body and knowing the location of his burial in Rafah city.
Lured to Ambush
The newly released arabic-language video, which posted online by an unidentified source, show he was lured to the location in Khan Younis after being told he would be filmed for a documentary about him titled “Hero of Gaza.”
Based on the material and phrasing, the video appears to have been released by Israeli intelligence elements.
The footage includes clips of Al-Hams speaking to a woman with a French accent who deceived him for the alleged film project. Captions say the woman “succeeded in drawing him into an ambush and deceiving him.”
Additional scenes show the doctor in earlier on-camera interviews and in WhatsApp exchanges with someone identifying herself as “Charlotte,” who created a group called “Belgian Consultations.”
The video also displays images of Al-Hams treating wounded Palestinians as part of his medical work in Rafah.
Near the end of the video, the narrator claims, “Doctor Marwan is seen as a hero by some people, but this is not the truth. Marwan is part of a brutal terrorist organization.”
The footage concludes with Israeli soldiers lowering Al-Hams into a tunnel.
Following his arrest, Israeli officials said he refused to cooperate with interrogators and the arrest of his daughter also did not lead him to provide information, according to Israeli occupation authorities, Ynet news reported.
