Political detainees announce program of escalating activities against Israeli repression
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Commission of Detainees and Former Detainees said that political prisoners in Israeli jails decided to start escalating activities to confront the ongoing Israeli repression.
The commission said in a press release that the escalation, which will begin next Friday, will start with boycotting the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) and rebelling against its laws. Leaders of the prisoners’ movement will also start an open hunger strike, which will escalate on a daily basis.
“The prisoners’ movement agreed on confrontation and it will not accept the ongoing attack against them, which aims at covering up the security failure in Gilboa prison, to continue”, the commission said.
It also added that the scale of assaults against political prisoners is concerning and unbearable.
In the same context, the Prisoners’ Society called on international human rights organizations to support Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
Palestine Center for Prisoners’ Studies called on the resistance to put those, who freed themselves in Gilboa prison break last Monday and rearrested recently, on top of any future prisoners’ swap deal and to pressure towards releasing them.
