Polish political party Razem says “Israel” committing crimes of apartheid
Jerusalem (QNN) – The Polish political party Razem has recognized Israel as an apartheid state and endorsed the Palestinian Boycott, Divestments, and Sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian rights, according to the BDS movement.
In a press statement, the BDS National Committee highly appreciated Razem’s principled position in support of the Palestinian people and their struggle for freedom, dignity and justice. It said this position was particularly inspiring given the rising anti-Palestinian sentiments in Central-Eastern Europe.
The statement said the step was important in light of the strong relations between ultra-nationalist governments in Central-Eastern Europe and Israel’s apartheid and settler colonial regime.
“Razem’s recognition of the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and calls for ending Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians are particularly praiseworthy,” said the BDS National Committee.
The statement concluded, “We call on all states to fulfil their legal and moral duty to end their complicity in Israeli apartheid, as they eventually did in apartheid South Africa. The first step is to acknowledge apartheid.”
