Planned to Assassinate Israeli Figures: Shin Bet Announces Arrest of Settler Recruited by Iran
Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Israel’s internal security service, Shin Bet, announced the arrest of an Israeli settler from Ramat Gan settlement on charges of working for Iranian intelligence. The suspect, identified as Vladislav Victorson, was recruited by Iranian agents through social media, with the alleged connection beginning in August.
According to the Shin Bet, Victorson carried out several tasks on behalf of the Iranian handlers. These activities reportedly included spraying graffiti, placing posters in public areas, hiding cash in designated locations, and setting fire to vehicles in Tel Aviv. The settler is said to have received over $5,000 in return for these actions. Additionally, he allegedly agreed to carry out assassinations of Israeli figures and planned to throw grenades at residential homes, acquiring weapons such as sniper rifles, handguns, and grenades to execute these plans.
Shin Bet’s investigation revealed that Victorson also recruited other settlers, including his wife, Anna Bernstein, to assist in carrying out the tasks assigned by the Iranian operatives. Both suspects have now been indicted for their roles.
The arrests were made following testimony from a settler who had been in contact with Victorson. He claimed he warned Victorson and Bernstein about their dangerous connection to Iran after realizing the potential threat to Israel’s security.
During their interrogation, Victorson and Bernstein reportedly confessed to being in communication with the Iranian agent via social media. The pair also admitted to vandalizing ATMs, spray-painting graffiti, and plotting to assassinate a high-ranking Israeli official at the agent’s request.
As part of his mission, Victorson also sought to recruit other Israelis, including his wife, to assist with further tasks.
