Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Thousands of Palestinian worshipers performed at Friday dawn the Al-Fajr prayer at the Al-Aqsa mosque in the occupied city of Jerusalem ahead of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.

Local sources reported that large numbers of Palestinian worshipers attended the Al-Fajr prayer at the mosque with the intention of supporting the “Great Fajr” campaign to pray at the holy sites and marking the holy Day of Arafah which comes just before Eid. The Eid al-Adha festival will begin on the evening of Saturday 9 July.

The Palestinians, including several families, then gathered at the courtyards of the mosque, confirming their spiritual links to the holy site and rejected the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.

The Palestinians also chanted Eid Takbeer: “Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, there is no god but Allah. And Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.”

Every Friday, thousands of Palestinians stream to the Al-Aqsa mosque, the world’s third-holiest site for Muslims. They recite the Holy Quran before performing the Al-Fajr prayer and later the Friday prayers.
