Nablus (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces earlier on Thursday demolished a Palestinian mosque in Duma town, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
Local sources said that Israeli forces stormed the Duma town earlier today, escorted a bulldozer into the area and started demolishing a mosque located east of the town.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs condemned Israel’s demolition of the mosque, saying such a step is a clear act of aggression against Muslim’s holy sites and an act of provocation against Muslim sentiments.
Israeli occupation constantly demolishes structures and houses of Palestinians in Area C, claiming they were built without a permit, rarely, if ever, issued for Palestinians by the occupation authorities.
The occupation authorities also do not allow any development there while using the occupied land for its illegal settlement activities.
Under the 1995 Oslo Accords between ‘Israel’ and the Palestinian Authority, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, was divided into three portions — Area A, B and C.
Area C is currently home to around 300,000 Palestinians.
Thus, house and structures demolitions, confiscation of the most basic infrastructure and military training exercises are part of everyday reality in the area.
There are nearly 700,000 Israeli settlers living in 256 illegal settlements and outposts scattered across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.
