Pictures And Videos: 21 Gazans died after fire broke out in Jabalia
Gaza Strip (QNN)- 21 Gazans died after a fire broke out in a residential building in Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday evening.
Health officials and local sources confirmed that residents and family members of the Abu Raya family were attending a party celebrating their sons homecoming from overseas and getting a PhD.
21 people, including 14 children, five women and two men, were killed in the fire that broke out in the apartment building.
Gaza’s interior ministry said the fire was caused by large amounts of gasoline improperly stored, fuelling the blaze that quickly engulfed the building.
There were no survivors among those present in the apartment, the ministry said.
Footage and pictures circulating on social media show the whole residential building caught fire in, sending huge flames and smoke from the site.
Witnesses said they could hear screaming but they could not reach the people to offer help because of the intensity of the fire.
