Paterson city appoints first Palestinian- American as Chief Justice

New Jersey (QNN)- Palestinian-American Abdel Majid Abdel Hadi was sworn-in on Tuesday as the Chief Justice of the city of Paterson, New Jersey, making him the first Palestinian to reach this important post in the United States, according WAFA.

Abdel Hadi, originally from Deir Dibwan, in the Ramallah, spent several years as a public prosecutor and then a city judge for five years before being appointed as the Chief Justice of the city of Paterson.

Mayor of Paterson, André Sayegh, expressed pride on his personal Face book page that Abdel Hadi was the first Palestinian-American to be appointed as a Chief Justice in the US, considering it a historic event.
