The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Mohammad Samer Hushia, 22, and Fouad Mohammad Abed, 25, were both shot dead by Israeli gunfire early on Monday in Kafr Dan, adding three others were injured during the same raid, including one in critical condition.
Hushia, a resident of the al-Yamun town, was shot in the chest while Abed, from Kufr Dan, was shot in the belly and thigh.
Last Sunday night, a large Israeli forces unit stormed the Kufr Dan village to demolish the houses of two Palestinians killed in a shootout at an Israeli military checkpoint in Jenin that led to the killing of an Israeli occupation soldier.
Ahmad Ayman Abed and Abdulrahman Hani Abed were shot dead at the Jalama checkpoint on September 14, 2022.
However, local sources reported that confrontations broke out between Palestinian residents and Israeli forces as the latter attacked the residents by firing live bullets, killing Hushia and Abed and injuring three others before blowing up three apartments belonging to the slain youths using explosives, displacing 13 people.

The Israeli occupation has used house demolition as a collective punitive measure against the families of Palestinians who carry out resistance operations.
Hundreds of houses have been demolished within this policy since 1967, leaving thousands of Palestinians homeless despite they had done no wrong and were not suspected of any wrongdoing.
This policy constitutes collective punishment, which is prohibited and violates binding provisions of international law: in the Geneva Convention (“No protected person may be punished for an offense he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited. Pillage is prohibited. Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited”).
The two men shot dead on Monday are the first Palestinians to be killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank in the new year of 2023.
The United Nations marked 2022 as the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank in 16 years as at least 171 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem in 2022, including more than 30 children. At least 9,000 others have been injured.
