2-year-old Muhamed al-Tamimi and his father, Haithem, were both shot by Israeli forces with live ammunition on Thursday evening while they were in their parked car outside their home in Nabi Saleh village.
The father was shot in the chest while the boy was seriously wounded in the head. The 40-year-old man was taken to a hospital in Ramallah, while his son was ferried to Israel’s Sheba hospital by helicopter before he was declared dead, four days later.
Israeli occupation forces admitted to shooting the father and his child, claiming it “regrets harm to noncombatants.”
A family member reportedly said the father and his child were about to drive away. As soon as the car moved, Israeli soldiers shot at them.
Since the start of 2023, 28 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli forces, including 20 children in the occupied West Bank and 8 in the Gaza Strip.
