Palestinians marks 73rd anniversary of Deir Yassin massacre

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Palestinians mark the 73rd anniversary of Deir Yassin massacre- when more than 250 Palestinian civilians were massacred by Zionist paramilitary groups in the village of Deir Yassin in 1948 prior to the establishment of ‘Israel’.
On Friday, 9 April 1948, the people of the Deir Yassin village were wiped out by Zionist militias that was ethnically cleansing historic Palestine to establish a Jewish homeland on stolen Palestinian soil.
Located just outside of Jerusalem, the village which was once home to 750 Palestinians was raided by the Zionist terrorist organizations Irgun and Stern Gang, who killed more than 250 defenceless Palestinian civilians on sight, including women and children.
The 120 odd militants sprayed homes with bullets and even used hand grenades that were thrown through people’s windows and doors.
Bodies were then burned and thrown in a pit. Following the massacre, many survivors were taken prisoner and paraded through the streets of Jerusalem before being killed later on.
Deir Yassin has long been a symbol of Israeli violence for Palestinians because of the particularly gruesome nature of the slaughter, which targeted men, women, children, and the elderly.
The scenes, as well as other massacres in other villages, made native Palestinians so fearful for their lives that as many as 750,000 fled their homes immediately.
This of course was not the end of it, as Palestinians have had to bear many state-sponsored massacres since at the hands of the Israelis. It is now estimated that up to 5.3 million Palestinians are living as refugees.
