Palestinian youth killed by Israeli forces during Nablus raid

Nablus (QNN)- A Palestinian youth was killed and 31 others were injured by Israeli occupation forces who raided the eastern area of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus late Wednesday night to make room for settlers’ intrusion.

Local and medical sources reported that 19-year-old Wasim Nasser Khalifa, a resident of Nablus’s Balata refugee camp, was shot twice in the upper chest, including one shot that penetrated his heart, by Israeli gunfire; he was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead minutes later.

On Wednesday evening, large numbers of Israeli occupation forces raided the eastern area of Nablus city, including the area of Joseph’s tomb, Balata refugee camp, and Askar refugee camp, to clear the way for settlers to break into Joseph’s tomb.

When settlers stormed the area, Palestinian residents decided to confront and protest the occupation forces and settlers’ raid. However, Israeli forces brutally attacked them and fired live bullets, sound bombs and ‏gas canisters, injuring at least 31 Palestinians, two of them severely, and killing Khalifa, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed.
