Palestinian prisoner tests positive for coronavirus
Occupied West Bank (QNN) – The Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has announced today one confirmed coronavirus case for a Palestinian prisoner.
A 21-year-old Palestinian prisoner from the occupied West Bank has been diagnosed with COVID-19 today. The prisoner was arrested two days ago, according to the IPS.
The Palestinian prisoner has been detained at Al-Moscobiyeh Detention Centre and Prison. A sample was taken from the prisoner to test for COVID-19 when he was arrested on Wednesday, and the result came positive on Thursday. As a precautionary measure, the IPS isolated the prisoner at a solitary confinement since the first moments of detaining him.
As a result, seven Israeli jailers who dealt with the infected prisoner will have to stay in quarantine.
