The Palestinian citizen was identified as Osama Mansour, 42 years old from Biddu village, near Beir Nabala.
Mansour was shot in the head with a live bullet and was in a critical condition when he arrived at a hospital in Ramallah.
Mansour’s wife was also shot in the back, and she is currently in a stable condition.
The Israeli occupation forces confirmed in a statement that it opened fire at a car after it stopped at a flying checkpoint set up in Beir Nabala and then continued on the road.
“Our troops thwarted an attempted car-ramming attack against a group of soldiers operating at a checkpoint south of Ramallah overnight. The soldiers responded with fire in order to thwart the threat. No IDF injuries were reported,” said the statement.

Mansour’s wife, however, said that around 3:30 a.m., Israeli forces threw a stun grenade under her husband’s car after it stopped at the checkpoint, and the forces allowed them to move before they opened fire at the car injuring her and killing Mansour.
She added, “After Mansour fell in my lap, he asked me, “Have you got injured?” and these were his last words, he was dead.”
