Palestinian man fatally shot by Israeli settler near Hebron settlement

Hebron (QNN)- A colonial Israeli settler shot and killed a Palestinian man in an illegal Israeli settlement near Ad-Dhahiriya town, southwest of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on Friday.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that the man, identified as 28-year-old Alaa Qaiseia, was shot and killed on Friday afternoon by an Israeli settler in the illegal Israeli settlement of Teneh Omrim, built on the lands of Ad-Dhahiriya town.

The Israeli military claimed that Qaiseia was killed after allegedly infiltrating the colonial settlement and attempting to carry out a stabbing operation although there were no reports of Israeli casualties.

Teneh Omarim was established in 1983 and houses almost 1,000 settlers, heavily guarded by the Israeli military.

Nearly 700,000 settlers live in more than 250 settlements and outposts across the West Bank and Jerusalem in violation of international law.

Israeli occupation forces and settlers have killed at least 157 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip since the start of 2023, according to the Health Ministry, including 10 females and 26 children.
