Palestinian Foreign Ministry summons Australian diplomat over biased remarks

Ramallah (QNN)- The Palestinian Foreign Ministry Monday summoned an Australian diplomat over the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s remarks in favor of the occupation state of Israel, reported the Palestinian News and Info Agency ‘WAFA’.

the Acting Director of the Australian Representative Office, Warren Hooy, was summoned following Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad Malki’s instructions over Morrison’s remarks in favor of ‘Israel’, confirmed undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry, Amal Jadou.

Jado expressed “dissatisfaction and resentment” of Morrison’s remarks made during his opening speech in which he underscored a shift by his government to take “an even stronger stand against the biased and unfair targeting of Israel in the UN General Assembly.”

Jado added that the occupation state is isolating itself due to its capacity as the occupying power and violations of international laws and illegal practices.

She urged Australia to take a clear and public stand on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s pledge to annex the occupied Jordan Valley, to vote in favor of renewing the UNRWA’s mandate during the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, and continue its financial support to the UN agency responsible for Palestinian refugees.
