Palestinian female detainee in Israeli prisons suffers medical negligence, says PPS
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Health condition of Palestinian female detainee in Israeli prisons, Azhar Assaf, has deteriorated as Israeli occupation authorities are denying her needed medical care, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said yesterday.
The PPS said it holds the Israeli occupation authorities full responsibility for the deteriorating health condition of Assaf as she suffers from several health problems, including neurological, hearing and vision problems.
Assaf, a resident of Al-Jib village, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, was arrested on September 11 by Israeli occupation forces. She is now held in Israel’s Damon prison along with about 30 Palestinian female detainees.
In response to Israel’s policy of medical negligence, the PPS noted that the Palestinian female detainees have carried out a series of protest steps since Friday, including rejecting meals and closing the sections.
The PPS said the female detainees face difficult conditions inside the Israeli prison of Damon, as some of them suffer from health problems while 6 female detainees are injured.
