Palestinian Factions React to Israel's Invasion of Parts of Syria
Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Palestinian factions condemned Israel's recent invasion of southern Syria, calling it an unprecedented act of aggression.
Hamas issued a statement on Tuesday denouncing the Zionist aggression and the brutal bombardment of public infrastructure and civilian property. The movement stated that Israel is committing crimes against the Syrian people to subjugate the region and impose its occupation agenda. Hamas urged Arab and Islamic nations, along with the international community, to unite against Israeli policies and hold its leaders accountable for war crimes and violations of international law.
Islamic Jihad expressed solidarity with the Syrian people, commending their resilience and historical support for Palestine. In its statement, the group reiterated that Israel remains a threat to Syria’s stability and regional security, citing the continued attacks as evidence of its hostile ambitions.
The Palestinian National Initiative also condemned the invasion, describing it as blatant imperialism. It stressed that Israel is systematically destroying Syrian infrastructure and occupying more of its territory in violation of Syria’s sovereignty. The group called on Arab, Islamic, and international organizations to respond immediately to Israel’s actions and prevent further escalation.
The Initiative warned that Israel’s aggression, if unchecked, would embolden it to target other nations in the region. The group emphasized the importance of Syrian national unity in preserving the country’s sovereignty and resisting foreign interference.
Palestinian factions reiterated their support for Syria, viewing the invasion as part of Israel's broader campaign of dominance in the region. They urged collective action to confront Israel’s imperialist and colonial ambitions.
As Syrian rebels claimed victory over Damascus and Bashar al-Assad fled, Israel acted swiftly, moving forces into southern Syria and occupying strategic areas like Al-Sheikh Mountain. Hundreds of Israeli airstrikes also targeted areas across the country.

France has rejected a visa to prominent human rights advocate and Director-General of Al-Haq, Shahwan Jabarin, who was scheduled to address the European Parliament’s human rights committee in Strasbourg, a move that “undermining efforts towards accountability and advocacy for Palestinian rights.”
