Palestinian engineer at NASA wears suit with traditional tatreez for headshot

United States (QNN)- Palestinian-American NASA exploration mission planning office chief, Nujoud Merancy, published on her Twitter account a new NASA headshot, which shows her wearing a suit with traditional tatreez Palestinian embroidery.

This is not the first time Merancy shows off her heritage as Palestinian. Last year, she posed in a Palestinian Kufiyyeh and a T-shirt, which reads “Unknown Middle Easterner”.

Nujoud Merancy is the Human Exploration Mission Analysis Lead NASA at the Johnson Space Center. She holds a Master’s of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in Houston, TX. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
Nujoud is the recipient of the NASA Exceptional Public Service Medal for her efforts on Orion Mission Planning. She is also the recipient of an Orion Program Managers Commendation, NASA Spaceflight Awareness Launch Honoree, and the Astronauts’ Personal Achievement Award the Silver Snoopy.
