Palestinian Detainee Killed in Israeli Custody After Two Years of Disappearance

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- The Red Cross has informed the family of Ayman Abdel-Hadi Qudaih of his death inside Israeli prisons. Qudaih, a Palestinian worker from Khan Younis, had disappeared in October 2023 during the early days of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

The International Committee of the Red Cross delivered the news to the family. Relatives say Qudaih died under torture in Israeli custody.

He had worked inside Israel and went missing at the start of the genocide. His family had received no confirmed information about him for nearly two years.

His death adds to a growing list of Palestinians who died in Israeli jails. Since the start of Israel’s genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, 63 Palestinian prisoners have been killed inside Israeli prisons, according to human rights monitors.

Qudaih’s family has endured immense loss. His son was killed on the first day of the war. His elderly father died last winter due to cold and displacement. Just two days ago, Israeli airstrikes killed Qudaih’s nephew, who bled to death alone in his home.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, more than 10,000 Palestinians remain in Israeli jails. The figure excludes many detainees from Gaza, where hundreds face forced disappearance.

Since 1967, Israel’s prison system has recorded 233 Palestinian deaths. That number does not include the recent surge in deaths since the genocide began.

Since October 2023, Israel’s genocide in Gaza—backed by the United States— has killed or injured over 160,000 Palestinians. The majority of the victims are women and children. Over 14,000 people remain missing.

Rights groups stress that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and targeting civilians, prisoners, and families under occupation.
