Palestinian administrative detainee continues 100 days of hunger strike
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Palestinian prisoner Ahmad Zahran (42 years old), from the village of Deir Abu Mish’al, has continued 100 days of hunger strike, in protest against his administrative detention. He has been reportedly facing a very dangerous health condition.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club said that the occupation state has put Zahran’s life in danger when it delayed the hearing of his appeal more than once.
The NGO stated that the Israeli obstinate position aims at taking revenge on the prisoner and causing his health condition to deteriorate so that he cannot be treated anymore, the same way how the Israelis dealt previously with other hunger strikers.
The Israeli authorities have taken several measures against Zahran, like the denial of family visits and being isolated in tough conditions.
Zahran’s hunger strike is the second this year. In March, he went on a hunger strike for 39 days and ended it after the Israelis promised him of releasing him, however, he was shocked when they renewed his administrative detention.
Zahran, a father of four children, has already spent 15 years in Israeli jails.
