Palestine to welcome Ramadan on Tuesday
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Muslims in Palestine are gearing up to welcome Ramadan, which will start on Tuesday as the Grand Mufti announced today.
Most Arab and Muslim countries announced that the moon has been born on the night of Monday, which means that Tuesday will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Supreme court in Saudi Arabia, as well as the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey, said that Tuesday will be the first day of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, other countries including Oman and Brunei announced that Wednesday will be the first day of Ramadan.
Fasting from sunrise to sunset during Ramadan is one of Islam’s five pillars. It is a time of self-examination and increased religious devotion.
Like last year, Muslims in the country will observe Ramadan under certain restrictions due to the pandemic.
Tarawih, the special night prayers during Ramadan, will not be allowed at mosques in most countries, however, Palestine eased COVID-19 restrictions, allowing Tarawih.
