Palestine to welcome Ramadan on Saturday
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Muslims in Palestine are gearing up to welcome Ramadan, which will start on Saturday as the Grand Mufti announced today.
Most Arab and Muslim countries have just announced that the moon has been born on Friday morning.
This means that Saturday will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Supreme court in Saudi Arabia, as well as the UAE, Qatar, and Turkey, also said that Saturday will be the first day of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, other countries including Jordan, Oman, Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia, announced that Sunday will be the first day of Ramadan.
Fasting from sunrise to sunset during Ramadan is one of Islam’s five pillars.
Moreover, it is a time of self-examination and increased religious devotion.
Unlike the past two years, Muslims in the country will observe Ramadan without COVID-19 restrictions.
Most countries will also allow the Tarawih, the special night prayers during Ramadan, at mosques.
