Over 500 killed in Israel’s bombardment of Gaza’s Baptist Hospital
On the 11th day of Israel’s offensive on the besieged Gaza Strip, Israel Bombed the Baptist Hospital (Al-Ahli Hospital) in Gaza, killing more than 500 people including patients, doctors, and displaced citizens.
“It’s rare to find a full body with all its parts. The deeper we went the more shocking and terrifying the scene was”, said Wael Eldahdouh, Al Jazeera journalist, describing the horrific scene of the dead bodies all over the place.
The Baptist Hospital is the oldest in Gaza. It was built by the Church Mission Society of the Church of England in 1882 nearly 50 years before the Nakba and the creation of “Israel”.
For three decades from the 1950s, it was managed by the Medical Mission of the Southern Baptist Church; it was known during that time as the Baptist Hospital (Mamdani in Arabic).
The Health system in the besieged Gaza is on the brink of collapse; doctors are struggling to manage the thousands of patients injured on a daily basis by the brutal Israel airstrike.
Hundreds of displaced Palestinians take shelter in hospitals as they think it’s the safest place to hide from the genocide, while Israel continues to bombard everything.
