Over 250 Argentinians submit applications for Palestinian citizenship as sign of solidarity

Buenos Aires (QNN)- Hundreds of Argentinians on Monday headed for the Palestine embassy in Buenos Aires to submit applications for the Palestinian citizenship as a sign of solidarity with Palestinian people.
Marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, November 29, over 250 Argentinians on Monday headed for the Palestine embassy in the capital city Buenos Aires to submit requests for the Palestinian citizenship as a sign of solidarity with the Palestinians in this day.
The move aimed at reaffirming their commitment to the Palestinian cause and Palestinian people “subjected for more than 70 years of military occupation, apartheid, colonialism and massive and systematic violation of their rights,” according to the organizers.
The move consisted of applying for Palestinian citizenship using a form designed and printed by the Argentine Committee for Solidarity with Palestine, in cooperation with the Argentine League for Human Rights, and in coordination with the Palestine Embassy, under the title: “I want to be Palestinian”.
Leaders, human rights activists from several organizations, trade unions, and civil society institutions, in addition to a number of parliament members, union leaders, prominent political, social and media figures, and representatives of political parties were among those who came to the embassy to submit the applications for the Palestinian citizenship.
The Secretary General of Trade Union, ATE Capital, Daniel Catalano, was among those who applied for citizenship.
“For a free Palestine!” Catalano tweeted, adding the move aimed to express support for Palestinians self-determination.
