Over 1500 Killed: Shocking Numbers on Israel’s Targeting of Humanitarian Workers in Gaza Revealed

Gaza (Quds News Network)- The Israeli military has killed 1,402 medical workers and 111 civil defense personnel in Gaza since the genocide began, according to the Government Media Office. The statement comes after the recent recovery of 14 executed medics, whose bodies were found buried in a deep pit in Rafah.

Israeli forces have also kidnapped 362 healthcare workers, with three doctors tortured to death in prison, and detained 26 civil defense personnel. The destruction extends to infrastructure, with 34 hospitals and 80 health centers rendered inoperable. In total, 162 medical institutions have been targeted.

Emergency response teams have also suffered heavy losses. Israeli airstrikes have hit 142 ambulances and 54 firefighting and rescue vehicles. Additionally, 15 civil defense centers have been bombed.

On Sunday, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) recovered 14 bodies of medics in Gaza. The victims, including nine from PRCS and five from civil defense, were found buried in a deep pit, their hands bound and gunshot wounds to their chests.

They were executed a week after Israeli forces attacked their ambulances in Rafah’s Tel al-Sultan neighborhood. The medics had been responding to injured civilians when they were ambushed.

The targeting of humanitarian workers in Gaza has drawn international condemnation. Medical teams continue to operate under life-threatening conditions, with limited resources and constant Israeli attacks.

Human rights organizations have called for urgent international intervention to protect medical and rescue workers in Gaza. The systematic targeting of healthcare providers violates international humanitarian law and worsens the already dire humanitarian crisis.

As the war continues, Gaza’s medical system faces total collapse, leaving civilians without access to life-saving care.
