One of Them Was Born and Killed in the School: Israel Kills 15 Children in Gaza Shelter
Gaza (Quds News Network)- A brutal Israeli attack targeted a UN shelter school in Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp on Sunday, killing 22 people, including 15 children. Among the victims was infant Ridwan Kashkou, who was born in the same school shelter where he tragically lost his life. The assault occurred at Al-Mufti School, a refuge for hundreds of displaced Palestinians seeking safety amid relentless airstrikes.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli artillery shelled the school, leading to a horrific massacre. Medical sources confirmed that five of the victims were transported to Shuhada’ Al-Aqsa Hospital, while 13 others, including children, were taken to Al-Awda Hospital.
Israeli forces were reportedly aware that Al-Mufti School housed displaced civilians, including many children and women, who had been driven from their homes by earlier bombings. Despite this, the school was targeted, adding to the growing list of civilian shelters hit during Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
This massacre marks one of the deadliest strikes on shelters, with Israeli attacks on 191 refugee centers in Gaza resulting in over 1,060 deaths, according to the Gaza Government Media Office.
Sunday’s attack is part of Israel’s larger offensive on northern Gaza, which has led to over 42,227 Palestinian deaths and left 98,464 injured since the genocide started on October 7, 2023, according to the Ministry of Health.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to worsen, as shortages of clean water, food, and medicine plague the region. The international community has been called to condemn these ongoing war crimes and demand an end to the violence against civilians.
