On the day of his freedom.. ‘Israel’ rearrests ex-detainee who served 18 years in jail

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Israeli authorities rearrested Ismail Afaneh (39 years old) the moment he was released from Negev desert jail on Tuesday, after spending 18 years in Israeli jails.

The Prisoners’ Club said that the Israeli Shin Bet rearrested Afaneh at the gate of the Negev prison after being released, then sent him to Maskubiyyeh interrogation center in occupied Jerusalem.

Afaneh, from Sour Baher in southern Jerusalem, was arrested on January 15, 2002. He was subjected to tough interrogation sessions by the Israeli Shin Bet to be finally convicted of joining Hamas and “planing for military activities”.

On several occasions, the occupation state rearrested Palestinian prisoners the moment they were released before imposing fines and conditions then releasing them in order to prevent them and their families from enjoying their freedom.

The Israelis usually force the prisoners to sign on documents, in which they pledge not to celebrate their freedom in Jerusalem, hold flags, or chant slogans.
