On Palestinian Prisoners’ Day.. 587 Palestinian prisoners serve life sentences

Ramallah (QNN)- The Palestine prisoners Center for studies said on Wednesday that 587 Palestinian prisoners serve life sentences in the Israeli jails.
The spokesperson of the center Ryad Al Ashqar said during a press conference on the Palestinian Prisoners Day that the number of Palestinian prisoners, who were sentenced to life imprisonment has increased in the last three years to 587 prisoners. 46 prisoners have served more than 20 years for each.
Al ashqar explained that a life sentence in the occupation state means serving 99 years in jail. Some prisoners are serving more than one life sentence. Abdallah Al Barghouthi (47 years old)– who has served 17 years in jail so far– is known to be the prisoner, who is serving the longest jail sentence in history, being sentenced to 67 life sentences.
