On Mother’s Day… ‘Israel’ holds 10 Palestinian mothers in its jails

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- As various parts of the world, including Palestine, celebrating today Mother’s Day, ‘Israel’ is still holding 10 Palestinian mothers in its jails.

The Palestinian Prisoners Soceity (PPS) said on Sunday ‘Israel’ is holding 10 mothers in the Damon prison for their resistance of the occupation, denying them the right to celebrate this occasion with their families.

Some of those mothers have been also denied ordinary visits, the PPS said.

Also, the PPS said ‘Israel’ does not allow the families, permitted to visit their imprisoned loved ones, to have any physical contact as they always must speak while separated by barriers.

Therefore, the detained mothers cannot hug or even touch their children.

The PPS noted that the occupation prison authorities have been preventing the female detainees of holding phone calls with their families.

“Female detainees face systematic violations deprived of basic rights guaranteed by International Law and all related treaties,” the PPS added.

The PPS also said that one of the main reasons Israeli occupation soldiers abduct and imprison Palestinian mothers is to force their sons to turn themselves in to the forces.

It added m that one of these cases is Etaf Jaradat.

‘Israel’ recently detained her because the forces is trying to detain her son.

It is worth mentioning that Etaf Jarada is also the mother of three detainees; Omar, Ghaith, and Montaser, and the forces demolished her home.

“The Israeli occupation tries to break the will of the Palestinians, the mothers, and the families,” the PPS said.

“We have seen many cases of how Israel abducted and imprisoned mothers because the forces failed to abduct their sons,” the PPS added.

“We also have thousands of cases where Palestinian mothers were never allowed visits with their families for years throughout their imprisonment.”

“In addition, we documented hundreds of cases where Palestinian detainees lost their mothers, but Israeli laws do not allow them to attend the funerals of their loved ones.”

The 10 mother detainees are:

•Isra Jaabis: serving 11 years, a mother of one child

•Fadwa Hamadeh: 10 years of sentence, a mother of five children

•Amani Hashim: 10 years of sentence, a mother of two children

•Khitam Saafin: 16 months, a mother of three
