On his 102nd day of hunger strike, Palestinian administrative detainee, Maher Al-Akhras, is in critical condition

Occupied West Bank (QNN)- The administrative detainee Maher Al Akhras completed 102 days of hunger strike amid concerns over his life.

The Committee of Prisoners’ Affairs urged and called the international communities and goverments to intensify pressure on ‘Israel’ to immediately and unconditionally release him.

The committee said on Thursday that there must be a strict and immediate end to the occupation state extensive use of administrative detention and that the occupation violations to international humanitarian law as well as human rights obligations towards all prisoners must be taken into account.

The hunger strike, as the committee explained, is a method of a non-violent resistance which the prisoners use to protect their lives and their fundamental rights and a response to the occupation racist policies which they face in the the prisons. He is still on hunger strike until his immediate release.

Al-Akhras is facing a serious and imminent threat to his life.
