OCHA: ‘Israel’ demolished 506 Palestinian buildings in 2020

Ramallah (QNN)- Israeli forces demolished 506 Palestinian buildings in the West Bank and Jerusalem this year under the pretext of having no building permits, according to a report by OCHA.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on Monday said that 134 of the demolished buildings were in occupied Jerusalem.
OCHA’s report stated that the Israeli authorities demolished 22 buildings during the last to weeks and demolished or confiscated 22 other buildings under the pretext of having no permits, displacing over 50 native Palestinians and causing damages to nearly 200 others.
The report added that “12 demolitions in Jerusalem, including 8 that have been already carried out, are self-demolitions in which owners are forced to demolish their houses to avoid heavy fines and penalties.”
Ten buildings that were demolished were located in the area ‘C’, which forms 60% of the West Bank.
