North Gaza: Israeli Forces Raid School-turned-Shelter in Beit Hanoun, Arrest Men, Forcibly Displace People, Kill Over 15 Others

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli occupation forces reportedly abducted Palestinian men, forcibly displaced women and children, and killed at least 15 others after raiding the Khaleel Oweida School, a shelter for displaced people, in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, on Sunday.

Local sources have reported that Israeli forces intensively attacked the school at dawn to force displaced people to flee.

The sources added that the forces raided the school, killing at least 15 people, abducting men, and forcing women and children to flee with no safe place to go.

North Gaza, including Beit Lahiya, Beit Hanoun, and Jabaliya, has been under relentless Israeli assaults and military siege since October 5. The Israeli military is implementing the “Generals’ Plan,” which aims to ethnically cleanse the area of its Palestinian population.

Displaced Palestinians from Beit Hanoun shared harrowing accounts of the brutal Israeli attacks that led to deaths, destruction and widespread suffering in northern Gaza on Sunday, according to the Palestinian civil defence.

Speaking to the search-and-rescue team as they arrived in Gaza City, the families recounted the horrific scenes they witnessed as they fled their homes.

According to the survivors, who had sought refuge in the Khaleel Oweida school, Israeli forces carried out intense bombardments on the school, leaving behind up to 15 charred bodies of civilians who had been caught in the flames.

The school had been sheltering approximately 1,500 displaced people, many of whom had been living in makeshift conditions.

Israeli journalist Hallel Rosen said the Givati Brigade raided the school, killed at least 60 people and arrested around 30 others.

The families also reported seeing decomposed bodies in nearby streets and alleys and confirmed that several homes near the school were heavily targeted by air strikes.

Among these homes was the residence of the Abd al-Daem family, where witnesses heard cries for help coming from the rubble, fearing that more people were trapped beneath the destroyed buildings.

“We left behind martyrs’ bodies, burned beyond recognition. Some are still under the rubble, crying out for help,” one displaced family member told the civil defence.
