North Gaza: Israeli forces attack Kamal Adwan Hospital

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israeli forces attacked on Sunday evening the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, severely wounding several children and damaging the facility’s nursery, while an Israeli drone also fired on the gates and walls of the nearby Indonesian Hospital.

Hussam Abu Safiya, the hospital’s director, said Israeli artillery targeted the hospital’s facilities, including the pediatric ward and nursery, leaving several children injured, including one in critical condition.

“Israeli artillery shells are falling on us from all directions, and drone aircraft are firing on anyone who moves,” Abu Safiya said.
“We are experiencing a genocide inside the hospital.”

He added, “There is not a single ambulance in northern Gaza.”

“The hospital is in a state of near-total collapse, and we call on the world to intervene to protect the hospital from ongoing Israeli targeting.”

This marks the second attack on the hospital by Israeli forces in just four days.

On October 31, Israeli forces hit the third floor of the hospital, which contains medicine and medical supplies, causing fire to erupt. These medical supplies were received five days ago from the World Health Organization (WHO). The occupation forces attacked the desalination station of the dialysis department, the engineering and maintenance section, and the water tanks.

On October 25, the Israeli military raided the hospital. The two-day assault began with air strikes that hit the hospital and its courtyards, including the medical oxygen generator. The bombing of the oxygen supply led to the death of children in the hospital and wounded medical staff.

“Instead of receiving aid, we receive tanks… which are shelling the [hospital] building,” Abu Safiya said.

A few hours after the air strikes, Israeli forces raided the hospital and called on all patients, including people in intensive care, to gather in the courtyard. They assaulted everyone inside. They then separated men and women. All men have been detained and subjected to field interrogations.

According to the director of nursing, there were 150 patients and wounded people inside at the time of the raid, alongside 250 medical staff.

Kamal Adwan is one of three hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip that have been under a suffocating Israeli siege for more than four weeks.

They have received little to no aid, medicine, food and fuel since the blockade on the north began on October 5.

The other two, the Indonesian Hospital and al-Awda Hospital have ceased operations due to the ongoing Israeli attacks. Thus, Kamal Adwan Hospital is the last operational hospital in the besieged northern Gaza.
