Normalization with ‘Israel’ is important, says Biden to Abu Dhabi crown prince
Washington (QNN)- US President Joe Biden spoke on the phone with Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday and expressed his full support for strengthening and expanding the normalization deals with the occupation state of ‘Israel’.
According to the White House, the two discussed several regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan, the Iranian nuclear threat, and “the common quest for de-escalation and peace in the Middle East.”
“In that regard, the president underlined the strategic importance of the normalization of relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel,” the White House said in a statement. “He expressed his full support for strengthening and expanding these arrangements.”
On 13 August 2020, the US President Donald Trump announced “a peace deal’ between the UAE and the occupation state brokered by Washington.
‘Israel’ normalized ties with the UAE in September, a move that was followed by Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
Palestinians condemned the normalization agreements, saying they encouraged Israel’s denial of their rights and do not serve the Palestinian cause.
Abu Dhabi said the deal was an effort to stave off Israel’s planned annexation of the occupied West Bank, however, opponents believe normalization efforts have been in the offing for many years as Israeli officials have made official visits to the UAE and attended conferences in the country which had no diplomatic or other ties with the occupation state.
