Nicolas Maduro declared winner of Venezuela election

Caracas (Quds News Network)- Nicolás Maduro has been declared the winner in Venezuela’s presidential election, according to partial results announced by the electoral council.
Elvis Amoroso, head of the National Electoral Council, says Maduro secured 51 percent of the vote, overcoming opposition candidate Edmundo González who garnered 44 percent. He said the results were based on 80 percent of voting stations, marking an irreversible trend.
Maduro stated that his re-election is ‘triumph of peace and stability’. He added that more than 900 election observers monitored the election.
Meanwhile, Edmundo Gonzalez claimed that the opposition wasn’t allowed to see many of the vote tallies to confirm the presidential election results.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the United States has ‘serious concerns’ about the announced result of Venezuela’s election.
“We have serious concerns that the result announced does not reflect the will or the votes of the Venezuelan people”, he added.
