NGO: Prisoner Hussein Masalmeh in critical condition

Ramallah (QNN)- The Palestinian Prisoners’ Association on Tuesday said that the deadline that an Israeli court gave for the prosecution to explain why it continues to arrest the cancer patient prisoner Hussein Masalmeh will end on Wednesday.

The NGO stressed that Masalmeh had been in a very critical condition at the ICU of Soroka jail since he was diagnosed with cancer last January.

An Israeli court had delayed the final rule in an appeal to a previous rule, rejecting to release him.

The Israeli parole board had rejected to release Masalmeh two weeks ago, a decision that was approved by the Israeli central court although of Masalmeh’s critical condition.

Masalmeh was deliberately medically neglected before he was taken to the hospital of Naqab to discover that he has an advanced form of Leukemia.

Hussein Masalmeh is from Bethlehem. He was arrested in 2002 and sentenced to 20 years in jail.
