New Israeli Lie Exposed: Video Claiming Clash with Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar Proven False

Gaza (Quds News Network)- A video released by Daniel Hagari, the spokesperson for the Israeli military, was exposed as misleading after Israeli media debunked his claims that the footage showed soldiers in combat with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Rafah.

In reality, a fact-check revealed that the video depicts a separate skirmish involving different fighters at another location.

Hagari’s video showed soldiers firing at a destroyed building, with the spokesperson asserting it captured the moments of Sinwar’s last stand. However, Israel’s public broadcaster confirmed that the footage did not capture a confrontation with Sinwar, who was killed by an artillery shell after Israeli soldiers refrained from entering the building he was in.

Since the onset of the genocide in Gaza, multiple reports have surfaced challenging Hagari’s statements and videos, stating that they serve as psychological and military propaganda aimed at influencing Palestinian and pro-Palestine audiences. Observers say such disinformation campaigns are part of Israel’s broader psychological warfare strategy, intended to diminish the morale and symbolic strength of Palestinian resistance figures.

Yahya Sinwar, recognized for his combat prowess, has become an emblem of resilience, inspiring support worldwide. The scenes of his final battle, as widely shared on social media, have garnered international solidarity, with figures in Europe, the United States, and beyond expressing admiration. Israeli attempts to counteract this heroic image have reportedly backfired, amplifying Sinwar’s legacy rather than diminishing it.

This latest video release is yet another effort by the Israeli army to construct a narrative portraying its soldiers as prevailing over key Palestinian leaders. Yet the exposure of its inaccuracy highlights what critics view as a concerted campaign to undermine Sinwar’s memory.

In his last known appearance, Sinwar was seen fighting in a heavily bombarded area, injured but resolute, contradicting previous Israeli claims that he hid in tunnels alongside Israeli prisoners. Israeli disinformation tactics, which reportedly involve specialized units trained in media manipulation, are now under increased scrutiny amid accusations that they play an integral role in Israel’s war doctrine.
