New groom: Palestinian resistance fighter assassinated by Israeli forces in Jenin raid

Jenin (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces assassinated on Thursday afternoon a Palestinian resistance fighter during a military raid into the Jenin refugee camp, north of the West Bank in the city of Jenin.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that 28-year-old Farooq Salameh was shot in the abdomen, chest, and head by Israeli live bullets and succumbed to his serious wounds shortly after being rushed to a hospital in Jenin.

Local sources reported that a large Israeli forces unit raided the Jenin refugee camp this afternoon and besieged a house in which Salameh was inside.

An exchange of fire took place, resulting in the killing of Salameh and a second Palestinian identified as 14-year-old Mohammad Khlouf, a resident of the town of Burqin.

Three others were lightly injured, including an 8-year-old child, according to the Health Ministry.

Salameh is reportedly a groom whose wedding party was due to take place next Saturday. He was preparing for the party when the forces raided the area and assassinated him.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad group has identified Salameh as one of its commanders in Jenin.

In the past few hours, four Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces, two are from the occupied city of Jerusalem and the two others are Salameh and Khlouf.
