Netanyahu says he will make official visit to Bahrain soon
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday morning that he accepted an invite to visit Bahrain from the Crown Prince.
In a video announcement made on social media, Netanyahu said that he had a “very friendly” conversation with Bahraini Prince Salman Hamad bin Khalifa on Monday.
“We are both excited to bring the fruits of peace to our people and countries in such a short time. That’s why he invited me to come soon for a formal visit in Bahrain and I will do this happily,” Netanyahu said in a statement after he held a phone call with the crown prince.

Last Wednesday, the first-ever Bahraini delegation visited Israel.
During the visit, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Bahraini FM, participated in a trilateral meeting with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Al-Zayani said that he was “greatly encouraged” by his meetings in Jerusalem, saying they were productive meetings.
“We definitely have something to work with, and I am optimistic for the future,” Al Zayani stated. “It has been obvious the intention and the keenness that the peace we are pursuing will be a warm peace that will benefit both peoples.”
Bahrain is the second Arab country to normalize ties with Israel, following the United Arab Emirates.
