Netanyahu announces plan to build new illegal settlement in East Jerusalem
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced plans to construct a new illegals settlement in the so-called “E1” area in Eat Jerusalem.
Israeli 13 Channel correspondent said that Netanyahu announced a plan to build 3500 settlement units in the area between the illegal settlement of “Ma’ale Adumim” and East Jerusalem.
The announcement would be only the first step to build the settlement since the procedures will take at least two years, the channel added.
Netanyahu confirmed that he did not announce “the step previously in fear of international response. The announcement was made today, however, for political purposes.”
“All previous US administrations, as well as European countries, refused to allow construction in this area and threatened to impose sanctions on the occupation state”, added the correspondent.
Construction in E1 area, which is located between “Ma’ale Adumim” and East Jerusalem is a very serious step, as it prevents Palestinian territorial integrity.
