Netanyahu announces expansion of military operations against Lebanon

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to expand military operations on the northern front against Lebanon, according to reports from Israel’s Channel 13 on Saturday. Netanyahu stated that Israel is preparing for a “large and powerful operation in the northern front.”

The Israeli military aims for a gradual escalation of conflict in the region, as reported by the same channel. This decision comes amid expectations that the Israeli government will soon officially approve the return of settlers to northern border settlements as a strategic objective of the ongoing war.

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation reported earlier that the Security Cabinet is set to convene on Monday to formally approve this decision.

Netanyahu’s decision to intensify attacks on the northern front follows more than 11 months of genocide in Gaza, with the violence now extending to Lebanon. The Israeli Prime Minister has emphasized the importance of “achieving military objectives in both regions.”

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant claimed that the Israeli army is prepared for further escalation with Lebanon. He indicated that the widening of military actions in the north would not reduce the pressure on Gaza.

During recent consultations, Netanyahu assured that military focus could shift between Gaza and Lebanon as needed, without undermining the ongoing efforts in Gaza.
